Feng Yang received his B.S. degree from Shandong University in 2011 and Ph.D degree under Prof. Yan Li at College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering from Peking University in 2017. He worked as a visiting Ph.D student in Prof. Shigeo Maruyama’s group at The University of Tokyo in 2016. He was awarded by the National Postdoctoral Program for Innovative Talents in 2017 and worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Prof. Yan Li’s group. Then he joined in Southern University of Science and Technology as an Assistant Professor (PI) in Oct. 2019.

His work mainly focus on the chirality controlled growth of carbon nanotubes and mechanism, catalyst design, environmental TEM and XAFS study on catalysts and growth process of nanomaterials. These work have been published on Nature, Acc. Chem. Res., J. Am. Chem. Soc., ACS Nano. The work published in Nature was selected by ACS C&EN as “Top 10 Chemistry Research of 2014” (ranked 5). Because of the contribution to the chirality controlled growth of carbon nanotubes, he has received awards including Iijima Award (2018), NT18-Best Young Scientist Award (2018), Honorable Mention for IUPAC Award for Young Chemists (2017), Natural Science Award of Chinese Ministry of Education, the 1st Grade (2/7) (2017). He was also invited to attend the 65th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Germany.
