Faculty
Associate Professor Wang Jianchun graduated from the School of Engineering of Peking University in 2007 and 2012 with a bachelor's degree in theoretical and applied mechanics and a doctorate in fluid mechanics. From 2012 to 2013, he worked as a Peiyuan scholar at the Center for Applied Physics and Technology of Peking University. Postdoctoral research at Princeton University and Nagoya Institute of Technology from 2013 to 2016. From September 2016 to January 2018, he served as an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering at Southern University of Science and Technology; from February 2018, he served as an associate professor.
Engaged in turbulence theory and numerical simulation, flow stability, computational fluid dynamics and other fields of research. Academic achievements include:
(1) The modal decomposition method is developed, and the multi-scale properties of the compressible turbulent flow field are studied, including: the energy spectrum of the acoustic mode and the pseudo-acoustic mode, the kinetic energy transmission mechanism of the shear process and the expansion process, and the small-scale structure. , scaling law and intermittent, shock and vortex structure interactions. Relevant research results provide a theoretical basis for the development of advanced compressible turbulence models.
(2) The thermodynamic method was developed. The subcritical instability problem of Poiseuye flow was studied. The critical Reynolds number of the nonlinear instability of laminar flow was determined. The free energy, action and thermodynamic relationship of the system were calculated. This method can be used to solve more subcritical instability problems.
In 2017, he was selected as the second batch of young talents holding project of China Association for Science and Technology. In 2018, he was selected into the 14th batch of "Youth Thousand Talents Plan".
