Guixin Li, Professor of Nanophotonics at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, College of Engineering, Southern University of Science and Technology, China. He was elected as the 2023 Optica Fellow (formerly OSA Fellow) and received the 2019 Outstanding Young Scholar Prize of Qiu Shi Science and Technologies Foundation. Prof. Li graduated from the Physics Department of Beijing Normal University with the Bachelor and M. Phil degrees in 2003 and 2006, and obtained the PhD degree from the Physics Department of Hong Kong Baptist University in 2009. He used to be a Research Assistant Professor at the Hong Kong Baptist University, Visiting Scholar at Imperial College London, Research Fellow at University of Birmingham, UK; University of Paderborn, Germany. His research fields include optical metasurfaces, nonlinear optics, nanophotonics, and geometric phase. Prof. Li has published over 110 papers in journals such as Nature Photonics, Nature Physics, Nature Review Materials, Nature Materials, Nature Nanotechnology, PNAS and so on. Total citations: > 12000 times. He was granted 3 Chinese invention patents and 5 US patents in the fields of metamaterials and nanophotonics. The research conducted by Prof. Li’s group was highlighted by Nature Photonics, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Physics, SPIE, etc. Prof Li’s research is financially supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Guangdong and Shenzhen governments. He serves as Associate Editor of Optics Express, the feature issue editor of Photonics Research, Advanced Photonics and Advanced Optical Materials, the editorial member of Advanced Photonics Nexus, and the executive member of the Metamaterials Society of China.
