Faculty
Zhang graduated from Peking University and received his B.S. in material chemistry in 2000 and his Ph.D. in 2005 with Prof. Song Gao, respectively. He carried out postdoctoral research at Kyushu University (Japan), the State University of New York at Buffalo, University of Kentucky and the University of Missouri-St. Louis from 2005-2013. Then he worked as a senior scientist at Texas A&M University from 2013-15 under the direction of Prof. Kim R. Dunbar. He joined the South University of Science and Technology in China as an associate professor since 2015.8. Zhang's research is ranging from synthetic inorganic chemistry, coordination chemistry, material chemistry, and electrochemistry, is mainly focused on employing possible ways to modify/improve physical properties of molecule magnetic materials via decorate chemical modification, in order to elucidate key issues of their property-structural correlations, with the ultimate goal of new functional molecular magnetic materials, especially single molecule magnets (SMMs), single chain magnets (SCMs) and photo-magnets. Till now, he has published 32+ publications with an average impact of 6+ and 1900+ citations.
