Bio:
Dr. HU Qi received his PhD degree (2019) from the Department of Building Environment and Energy Engineering, The HK Polytechnic University, of research interests that mainly focus on noise control. From 2020 to 2022, Dr. HU worked as a post-doc research fellow at the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Science, specialized in acoustic tweezers studies and its biomedical applications. Dr. HU obtained his bachelor’s degree in industrial design from the School of Mechanical Engineering, Sichuan University. In view of the interdisciplinary study and research experience, Dr. Hu cumulated in-depth understandings in Industrial Design and Mechanical Engineering. Now, Dr HU Qi is a Lecturer in the School of System Design and Intelligent Manufacturing (SDIM) at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), and Shenzhen overseas high-level talents.

Working Experience:
From April 2020, a post-doc research fellow at Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology Chinese Academy of Sciences, focusing on three-dimensional acoustic tweezers, acoustic manipulations and the related biomedical applications.
From August 2019 to February 2020,
- working as a Research Assistant in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, HKPU, performing research-oriented activities regarding noise source identification and visualization using beamforming algorithms and near-field acoustical holography methods.
- involved in two consultancy projects: 1) Smart Noise Barriers/Enclosures design for EPD; 2) noise evaluation for urban railway system in Wenzhou.
From January 2013 to July 2013, working as a Research Assistant in the Department of Building Services Engineering, HKPU, conducting variety of acoustic measurements and numerical simulations for consultant projects.
From August 2012 to December 2012, working as a Research Assistant in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, HKPU, re-designing industrial silencers for HVAC system to improve the noise reduction performance.
